We are committed to ensuring that the children in our care grow into healthy adults. Consequently, this school does its utmost to teach children the key points about living a healthy life, including the importance of eating healthy food. We have achieved the National Healthy School Standard and our Whole School Food Policy is designed to contribute a vital element to our strategy of creating a school environment in which children can thrive. We believe that it is only through a whole-school approach that the key message about food and drink can be really effectively conveyed. This is reinforced through our school catering that provides the children with nourishing and healthy lunches and break-time snacks.
Our children can munch on various fruits and vegetables whilst waiting for their lunch. Rather than plastic trays we provide the children with crockery that they would find familiar in their homes to develop the family feel that we foster. Children eat together in their school houses and we encourage good manners and respect for each other.
